Simple Pasta Sauce


I was originally taught this by mother as a "bolognese" sauce, but calling it that seemed to offend Italians I know, so let's just go with "pasta sauce".

Serves 4



  1. heat oil in a large fry pan
  2. add onion, fry until soft
  3. add herbs; stir through
  4. add minced; break up and stir, cook until browned
  5. add garlic and mushrooms; stir through
  6. add tomato paste, tomatos, and ~1cup water; stir through
  7. bring to the boil, and simmer until reduced
